Getting Started
GenePro G1
GenePro S1
IONME2
What’s the fastest way to get started on the tee?
Step 1: Power on the device.
Step 2: Adjust the eyepiece diopter until the reticle is sharp.
Step 3: Aim at the flag and press the measure button. Hold steady until you see or feel the lock confirmation.
Do I need a phone or app to use the rangefinder on course?
No. All MILESEEY Golf rangefinders work stand-alone.
How do I hold the device for a stable reading?
Brace your elbows against your torso, use two hands, exhale gently, then press to range. For long flags, start with Scan modeand sweep from background trees onto the flag.
How do I change units between yards and meters?
Go to Settings → Units (or long-press the Units button on models with a dedicated key) and select Yards or Meters (or Feet in some models).
How do I use Flag-Lock (Pin-Seeker) correctly?
Aim just below the flag first, then sweep up through the flag. Maintain the reticle on the flag for ~0.5–1s until you get a lock cue (usually a pulse vibration).
What is Scan mode and when should I use it?
Scan continuously updates distances while you pan across targets—ideal for checking the front bunker, fairway corner, then flag in one motion.
How does slope work and is it tournament-legal?
Slope shows an adjusted “play-as” distance that factors in uphill and downhill shots. In tournaments, slope must be turned OFF using the switch on PF260 Tour, PFS2, GenePro G1, and S1 to remain legal.
How do I handle blind shots when I can’t see the flag?
Use course layout cues, or rely on the GenePro G1’s Pin Pointer to guide you toward the green.
How do I measure between two points (P2P)?
On models with Ball-to-Pin™ capability, select the mode, measure Point A (e.g., ball), then Point B (e.g., pin or layup). This helps you plan shots without having to walk to the ball.
The reading jumps around, what should I check first?
Confirm the unit of measurement is in your intended Units (yd/m). Avoid highly reflective backgrounds behind the flag. Use Flag-Lock or Scan and hold steady for ~1s.
Can I use the device in rain or fog?
Yes, MILESEEY Golf rangefinders are designed for outdoor play.
What if I still have questions on course?
Check the Troubleshooting FAQ on our site, or click Contact Usto reach Mileseey Golf Support with your model name and a brief description or video of the issue.
How do I adjust brightness for optimal readability?
Use the Brightness/Display control in Settings (wording varies by model). In bright sun, align your eye fully with the eyecup and minimize stray light.
How do I pair/sync with the app?
Open the Mileseey Golf app on your phone, enable Bluetooth, and follow the on-screen pairing instructions. App sync is supported on GenePro G1 and S1.
Where can I find the user manual?
Click the User Manual page, choose your product of interest, and view its manual for more information.
How do the battery and charging work?
Some models use USB-C rechargeable batteries, others use replaceable CR2 cells. Check the manual for details and ensure sufficient power before play.
Is the laser safe?
Yes, when used as intended. Never aim at eyes, vehicles, or aircraft. Keep out of reach of children and follow the safety notes in your manual.

What makes GenePro G1 different from a traditional rangefinder?
GenePro G1 combines advanced laser accuracy with a built-in GPS map on a 2.13” AMOLED touchscreen — offering a true hybrid experience for modern golfers, providing them both the precision they need for a successful shot and the overview information of the course they are playing.
Does GenePro G1 come with built-in golf course maps?
Yes. It includes preloaded maps of over 43,000 golf courses worldwide — no app or smartphone required. Just select the course you are going to play and enter, it will give you dynamic F/C/B distances to the green and hazard information of each hole, guiding you to the road of becoming a golf master.
What does Range Sync Arc do?
After a laser ranging, GenePro G1 draws an arc on the map showing what’s in play at your distance, so you'll know better to avoid landing the ball into hazards.
What is Ball-to-Pin™ mode and when should I use it?
Ball-to-Pin™ mode is a proprietary technology based on MILESEEY's leading Point-to-Point Measure, it allows you to measure between any two points on the course from any location, reducing the hassles of going back and forth. For example, when your cart can't go further to the fairway, Ball-to-Pin™ mode lets you measure the distance from the ball to the pin from the cart path so you can pick the right club in advance, or when there are obstacles between you and the target, it can also help you measure over the obstacles and get the distance to the target.
Just shoot the ball to get the first measurement and then shoot the target to get the second, and G1 will automatically calculate the distance between the two and display it on the screen.
What does Pin Pointer do?
It shows the correct direction to the green center with GPS distance reading even when your line of sight to the green is hindered, eliminating blind shots. This feature is really helpful when you play on unfamiliar courses, helping you gain the edge back.
What do the numbers mean on the upper left corner of the touchscreen?
They are dynamic GPS distance readings to the Front, Center and Back of the green.
Can I use GenePro G1 in bright sunlight or poor weather?
Yes. The AMOLED touchscreen ensures high readability even in bright sunlight conditions. Enable the Rain & Fog mode to maintain laser accuracy and consistency when bad weather surprises your play.
What modes does GenePro G1 support?
Apart from standard single measurement mode, GenePro G1 also offers Flag-Lock mode (scanning) and Ball-to-Pin™ mode with an additional Rain & Fog settings.
Is GenePro G1 tournament-legal?
Yes, golfers can easily toggle the slope function on/off with the external rotating switch to stay tournament-legal.
How is SmartSlope™ different from standard slope compensation?
Apart from angles, SmartSlope™ factors in environmental elements, such as temperature, humidity and elevation to the slope algorithm to provide golfers the most accurate compensated distances on course, because sometimes in golf even an inch can be the difference between a hole-in-one and an epic fail. Rotate the external slope switch to OFF for tournament plays.
How do I get the most accurate readings?
To help ensure a consistent and accurate distance measurement, please note the following:
Mist, rain, and fog affect ranging ability — enable Rain & Fog mode.
Shiny, reflective surfaces reflect better than dull, textured ones.
Ranging under cloud cover can improve performance compared to bright sun.
Flat surfaces perpendicular to the laser beam reflect better than angled ones.
At longer distances, larger objects are easier to range than smaller ones.
What should I do if my rangefinder has condensation in the lens?
If your rangefinder has condensation in the lens, put it in uncooked rice overnight to soak up the moisture. This should help remove condensation. If this does not help, please contact our customer support team for assistance.
How accurate and fast is the laser?
GenePro G1 offers a ±0.5-yard measuring accuracy with flag-lock range up to 600 yards. And it instantly sends pulse vibrations after you successfully lock onto the pin, usually within 0.1s, boosting your swing confidence for the perfect shot. Plus, with Background Interference Filtering tech, you'll never have to worry about having troubles locking onto the pin.
Do I need a phone, an app, or subscription to use GenePro G1?
No. Golfers can view course maps, plan shots with the Layup Feature or track performance directly from GenePro G1, no need to use a phone, a watch or download an app. They can also sync their round data to the paired MILESEEY Golf App with no subscription fees whatsoever.
Can I switch between yards and meters?
Yes. Long-press the Setting button to enter the device settings menu, short-press the Setting button to go to SET4 (Unit Switch), and then short-press the Measure button to switch between yard (Y) and meter (M).
Is the touchscreen glove-compatible?
Although GenePro G1 supports using with gloves on, for optimal responsiveness, use with bare fingers is highly recommended.
Why are my readings inconsistent or jumpy?
Your GenePro G1 might be set to the wrong unit of measurement. Toggle between yards/meters in Settings. Weather (fog/rain) may also affect accuracy — enable Rain & Fog mode. If still inaccurate, contact our customer support team.
Why doesn’t the Range Sync Arc show up after I take a laser reading?
Ensure you completed a laser read on the current hole map, then wait for the coverage arc to render. If you switched holes, re-enter the correct hole page first.
Why doesn’t the course data match the map on my GenePro G1?
Make sure you have selected the right tee box and hole. If a recent course change isn’t reflected, perform a course update via the app and re-sync.
Where can I download the User Manual or Quick Start Guide?
You can download the latest User Manual and Quick Start PDFs for G1 by clicking here.
How do I update course maps?
Follow the step-by-step guide on the G1 Support page. Map updates are free; ensure the device has sufficient power during updates.
What type of battery does GenePro G1 use?
GenePro G1 uses a high-capacity Li-ion battery with battery life up to 24 hours. Actual battery life may vary depending on usage.
Can I use any USB-C cable to charge my GenePro G1 Rangefinder?
Yes. It can be charged using any standard USB port or AC adapter. Heat during charging is normal.
Is GenePro G1 waterproof?
Yes, GenePro G1 is IP65 protected. That means it’s dust-tight and resistant to low-pressure water jets from any direction — suitable for wet environments but not submersion.
Does GenePro G1 comes with a built-in magnetic strip?
No. Strong magnetic fields could interfere with functions. Instead, a magnetic carrying case (sold separately) is available.
How to calibrate the Pin Pointer if it's off?
Go to Settings → Compass Calibration and follow on-screen instructions. Perform this outdoors on a real course and away from strong magnetic fields.
How should I clean my GenePro G1 Rangefinder?
Blow away dust or debris first.
Use the included cleaning cloth for dirt/fingerprints.
For thorough cleaning, use photographic lens tissue with cleaning fluid (apply fluid to cloth, not directly).
Device is water resistant but not waterproof — avoid heavy rain or submersion.

Confirm your shipping address and check with your front desk or possible drop-off spots. If you still cannot locate the package within 24 hours of the delivery notification, contact Mileseey Golf Support at mileseeygolf@mileseey.com or via Contact Us for assistance.
Why are my readings inconsistent or jumpy?
Check that units are set to yards or meters correctly. Hold steady with two hands and sweep onto the flag instead of aiming directly, then clean the lens and avoid reflective backgrounds.
Why can’t I lock onto the flag?
Turn on Flag Lock, aim just below the flag and sweep up through it. If the background is busy, step closer and confirm your battery is charged.
Why don’t I feel vibration when I lock?
Keep the reticle on the flag for about one second. If vibration still doesn’t trigger, use the on-screen cue or contact Support.
Why does the distance seem off?
Make sure units are correct (yd or m). Use slope ON only when you want adjusted “play as” yardage, and OFF for tournaments. Always re-range from a steady stance.
Why won’t it measure very short or very long targets?
Step back a few yards for very short targets. For long shots, brace your arms and try Scan mode, avoiding heat shimmer by ranging from a slightly different angle.
Why is the display hard to see in bright sunlight?
Align your eye fully with the eyecup and shade the viewfinder with your hand. On models with brightness control (GenePro G1, S1, PF260, PFS2), you can also increase brightness in Settings.
Why does the device struggle in rain or fog?
Hold on the target a little longer and wipe the lens often. On models with Rain & Fog mode (PF260, PF1 Pro, PFS2), enabling this setting will help improve accuracy.
Why won’t my device power on?
Recharge or replace the battery and try another cable or port if it is rechargeable. If it still will not hold power, contact Mileseey Golf Support at mileseeygolf@mileseey.com or click Contact Us on our website.
Why does my battery drain so fast?
Charge fully before play or use a fresh CR2 battery. Avoid extreme temperatures and replace older batteries when needed.
Why does the device feel hot?
Turn it off and let it cool in the shade. Avoid leaving it on hot dashboards or carts, and if overheating continues, contact Mileseey Golf Support at mileseeygolf@mileseey.com or click Contact Us on our website.
Why aren’t the buttons or touchscreen responding?
Restart the device. For touch models, clean and dry the screen and use bare fingers or compatible gloves. Check if a key lock is turned on.
Why won’t the app pair with my device?
Turn on Bluetooth and Location on your phone. Make sure the device is not paired to another phone, then toggle Bluetooth off and on and retry in the app.
Why does app sync stop partway?
Keep the app open with your phone screen on and stay close to the device. Avoid interference and retry with both batteries above 50 percent.
Why do my course maps look outdated?
Check for course or map updates in the app, run the update with enough battery, then re-sync and reload the course.
Why does it show the wrong hole or not auto advance?
Manually select the correct hole, ensure GPS has a clear view of the sky, and restart the round if needed.
Why doesn’t the Range Sync Arc appear after a laser read?
Make sure you ranged while on the current hole screen and wait briefly for the overlay to render, or re-range after switching holes.
Why does the compass or pin direction seem off?
Keep magnets such as cart mounts or cases away. Calibrate the compass in Settings and move a few yards before testing again.
Why does slope feel inaccurate?
Use slope ON only in practice and OFF for tournaments. Always re-range from a stable stance and avoid heavy sidehill lies.
Why is the reticle blurry?
Adjust the diopter at the eyepiece until the reticle is sharp. If you wear glasses, try with and without to see which is clearer, and clean the eyepiece.
Why can’t I see the laser beam?
This is normal because the beam is not visible in daylight. Rely on the reticle, distance readout, and lock cues instead.
Why do the device and app show different units?
Set the same units on both device and app, then re-sync. Restart the app if the values do not refresh.
Why does firmware or map update fail?
Charge the device above 50 percent and use stable Wi-Fi while keeping the app active. If it fails repeatedly, reinstall the app and try again.
Why is there fog or condensation inside the eyepiece?
Turn it off and let it cool in the shade. Avoid leaving it on hot dashboards or carts, and if overheating continues, contact Mileseey Golf Support at mileseeygolf@mileseey.com or click Contact Uson our website.
Why are my readings different from my playing partner’s?
Make sure both devices use the same units and slope settings. Range the same target from the same spot, small differences are normal but large gaps are not.
When should I contact Support, and what info helps?
If issues persist, contact Mileseey Golf Support through mileseeygolf@mileseey.com or by clicking Contact Us on our website. Share your model, serial, firmware or app version, battery level, course, hole, and photos or video if possible.

Avoid long exposure to heat or cold since car interiors can exceed safe temperatures. If it has been left in a car, allow it to return to room temperature before use or charging.
What’s the best way to care for the battery during long-term storage?
For rechargeable models, store at 50–70% charge and top up every few months. For replaceable batteries, consider removing the cell if storing more than 60 days. Always keep batteries dry and cool.
How do I keep the charging port or battery compartment clean?
Dry ports or compartments after rain, remove debris with a soft brush, and keep rechargeable ports capped if a cover is provided.
Should I use a protective case and lanyard?
Yes, always transport in the provided case to prevent drops and scratches. Use the wrist strap when carrying, and avoid stuffing it into tight pockets that press on buttons.
Any cautions when using magnetic mounts?
Keep strong magnets away from compass features as they can affect accuracy. Mount only on clean, flat metal and remove before driving on rough terrain.
Can I apply screen protectors or third-party covers?
Use protectors designed for your model. Avoid thick films that interfere with buttons or block sensors, the eyepiece, or ports.
How do I clean stubborn grime on the body?
Use a slightly damp microfiber with a drop of mild soap, then wipe clean with a second damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid soaking seams or labels.
What should I do after a muddy round?
Let mud dry, then brush it off gently. Wipe remaining residue with a damp cloth and dry fully, cleaning optics last to avoid scratching the lens.
Any maintenance tips to keep performance consistent?
Keep lenses spotless and check diopter focus regularly. Update firmware or maps if supported, and inspect straps, mounts, and cases for wear.
How do I prevent mold or odors in humid climates?
Always dry the device completely before storage. Store it with fresh desiccant packs and air out the case after wet rounds.
What should I avoid during cleaning?
Do not use paper products on optics, spray liquids directly on the device, or use compressed air at close range. Never immerse the device in water.
Any travel tips for flights or transport?
Pack the device in your carry-on with its protective case. For replaceable batteries such as CR2, follow airline rules and carry spares in original packaging. Avoid checked luggage to reduce shock and temperature risks.
How should I care for logos and painted markings?
Wipe gently with a damp microfiber. Avoid solvents or scrubbing, as these can fade inks or remove paint.
